I'll Marry Whomever You Want Me To Marry

...not. But if he has a Pie Time, and if he's good at puns on the fly, then that all works in his favour. However, ever since Isabella's series of nacho jokes, I will never love a man who uses 'nacho' in a pun. That's just the way it has to be.

I've decided that the thing I hate the most in the world is a zipper that needs to be sewn to a garment. I hate zippers with every fibre of my being. They're ugly, they're loud, they get jammed, and above all, they're impossible to sew on correctly. And when you think you've finally got it right, the teacher comes along, looks at your zipper, makes a face, and tells you (mincing no discouraging words) that you're going to have to rip out this zipper and do it again, because this one is wrong.

Sigh.

Monday is Labor Day (or No Labor Day, as I like to call it. Or No School Day). I am excited. You know what I'm also excited about? This weather. It's awesome. The rainy wet dreariness gives me little warm fuzzies of happiness. But that is nothing compared to how excited I am for my first payday, which I found out just so happens to fall on my birthday. A few hundred dollars to pull me out of my debilitating state of negative monies will be the best birthday present ever. But don't let that make you feel like you don't have to get me a present. Because you do.

I have to go to work now. Since it's so dreary outside I feel like knitting. I wonder if anyone will think I'm weird if I bring knitting to work. Definitely yes. The needles probably count as a deadly object anyway. They might not even let me carry them inside. Maybe I'd be better off crocheting.

MLIA

Is your life average or awesome?

Here are some MLIA posts to cheer you up, Amy. With my thoughts under in parenthasis.

Today, my friend was singing an old song that used to be my favourite song. Turns out the first line of the song is, "90 miles outside Chicago" not, "Mighty mouse outside my window". Whoops. I never thought it made much sense. MLIA.

(goodness. That kind of thing has happened to me WAY too much.)

Today, I saw a fat man exercising. I felt so happy. Then I realized he was just running to the hot dog stand across the street from the park. MLIA

(Hahahahaha)

A few days ago I was walking through this big field and out of nowhere a guy in a tuxedo dropped down in a parachute. He got up, detached the parachute, looked at me, and ran into the woods. I kept the parachute. MLIA

(this needs to happen to me)

Today, I began pouring myself a glass of water. The cup was up side down. MLIA

I woke up thinking it was Thursday, then I realized it's Wednesday. It's Tuesday MLIA

Today, I discovered something. If you type in "Epic Box" in Google and click "I'm Feeling Lucky", you'll understand why Google definitely won the Google v. Yahoo war. MLIA

(do this. Make sure you have about an hour to waste.)

Today, I was reading a diary that I wrote in when I was a little kid. I read an entry about how I went to Rome and met the Pope. This did not happen. I lied to my own diary. MLIA

(sometimes I do that because I feel guilty that my life is so boring.)

Today I read a story about someone pouring in the milk before the cereal and feeling odd. I've been pouring in my milk before my cereal for as long as I can remember. Now I just feel self conscious.. MLIA

(Wow. Thats just wrong.)

Today I saw an ad for a pill to help you swallow pills. MLIA

(you need one of those.)

Today, I went to Toys R Us. As soon as I walked in, I saw these two gangster looking people holding Lotso from Toy Story 3. They were sniffing it and exclaiming, "Dude, this one's the bad dude!" My stereotypes have just flown out of the window. MLIA.

Today, I was looking through old tests I've taken (I keep all my tests because...I don't know...) and saw one where I didn't know the answer. In the empty space, I drew an angry face on a muffin and wrote "muffin disapproves". I then looked at the top of the paper to realize I had gotten a 100%. MLIA.

(I dare you to do that sometime.)

The other day, I had a dream in which I woke up tied to a chair in the shrieking shack. Voldemort came up to me and asked where "it" was. I thought it was the Harry Potter prophecy and refused to give it up. Voldemort then proceeded to go look into my bag and bring out something. He then proceeds to wave my ipod in my face, do a little a victory dance, and leave. I'm still pretty confused. MLIA

(Whoa, crazy vision of voldemort doing a victory dance...ha.haha.)

Today, I read a MLIA post about how "Yeah" is the same upside-down, after that I lifted my laptop and turned it upside-down to see if it was true. People stared. MLIA

(AWESOME! kind of like how you can type shoes upside down on your calculator.)

Today, I was at my community college in the lobby/sitting area. this guy was sitting next to me and I didn't have a watch, so I asked him what time it was. He looks at his watch, freaks out, looks in his backpack, and pulls out a piece of pie, while he yelled "pie time!". Oh how I love my college. MLIA

(Community college? recipe for awesome. You must marry a man like this.)

Today, I told cleverbot to tell me a story. It came out with: "Once, there was a sausage called dave. He was a happy sausage. One day, someone ate him. The end." Poor dave. MLIA

(Poor dave. YUMMY SAUSAGE!)

Today, I blew a speaker in my car jamming to Mozart's Requiem. Yes, MLIA.

today i found a cat in my bathtub. it's not even mine. MLIA

(Yeah, cats can do cool stuff like that.)

Today i was in a book store, i walked into an isle with a really cute guy. The weird thing was, he looked around suspiciously, picked up a book, smelled the book, then he licked it. I just backed away slowly. MLIA

(She knows what to do in terribly awkward situations.)

Today, I tripped walking down the hall in my house. While on the ground, I noticed my braces were caught on the carpet. I had to wait there for 2 hours because I was home alone and I needed someone to cut me loose. MLIA.

Today, I was at the movies walking down an aisle to my seat. On the way, I accidentally stepped in a man's nachos. I said, "oops, i'm sorry" then he replied, "It's nacho fault!" That easily made my day. MLIA

(You must also marry a man like this.)

oday I went down stairs for a pencil and came back up stairs with a piece of chocolate cake ...but im ok with that MLIA

(STORY. OF. MY. LIFE.)

Today, a stranger on the elevator sneezed. She said thank you before I said bless you. It was awkward. MLIA

Today, I put my arm on the back of an unoccupied chair. I felt like I was trying to hit on someone. It was awkward. MLIA

Hope you liked! -michelle

I sing just like Aretha

Amy.

What, doing things that might make you more embarrassed is the only way to stop being so self conscious. Like, listening to your ipod in the hallways and dancing, or dropping your bag and doing a cartwheel. Yeah. If you do care about everything so much and you get stressed, bad things are bound to happen. If you don't care what happens and you are there for a fun time, then good things will happen.

I'm learning a new move. Its awesome.

Also, I will give you some sweet drawings that I have drawn. Every night before I go to bed I draw at least one picture while listening to music. The music kind of inspires me.

Music does awesome stuff like that sometimes.

Amy.

Isn't this comic awesome? I love it.

Speaking of music, yesterday I got on grooveshark and tried to get the whole Step Up 3D soundtrack. It was a little frustrating because,

1. I couldn't find that song that Moose and Camille dance too.
2. They only had the songs, not the remixed/DJed/awesome versions that are on the movie.

But I did get a couple cool songs, and I spent the afternoon doing back bends and handsprings and pike rolls and this cool move where you lean back, and your feet go upside down and you slowly lean back and back until your upper back touches the floor, then your knees. And if you're really good, you'll get almost down, and then come back up. But that would be hard. Its hard and I got lots of headaches from collapsing in the middle and falling down and almost getting the wind knocked out of me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IjRoxGnezE Its the move he does 00:35-00:37 Pretty sweet, huh?

Have a good day,

-Michelle

I Forgot About Sleeping So I'm Posting Instead

Dear Michelle,

Here's what happens when school starts: I forget everything cool about school and remember all the things about it that squicked me out.

Here's another thing that happens when school starts: I remember all my most embarrassing moments, which incidentally all happened at school. And then I proceed to have more.

It's a vicious cycle.
I've found that the only way to (temporarily) forget those really red-faced moments where I say exactly the wrong thing or where my skirt gets caught in my underwear or I yell out the wrong note or I spill my tea all over the table in French or... yeah, the only way to forget it is to go home with the radio on full blast, hoping that B.o.B. comes on before I get to Mor Mor's so I can yell about kicking it like Adidas (stick it like adhesive). It helps. Seriously.
However, when there's no way to escape it, I doodle. This morning at work after spending a fruitless fifteen minutes trying to get my point across to a poor Iranian guy who didn't really get what I was saying at all, I drew a mutant Pacman monster rampaging a city and eating cars. It felt good.

P.S. Your philosophical explorations of the nature of peer influence were most enlightening. I'm a hopeless conformer. I ought to break out into dance in the hallways someday. The only thing stopping me is the fear that I'll inadvertently add to my ever-growing tally of most crushingly embarrassing mistakes I've ever made.
-Amy Joy
P.P.S. Blogspot is screwing up my formatting. Drat.

Not Another Like Me

I kind of feel like this is the story of my life.
You know how when you are little you want to be just like everyone else, you want to be cool? Well, when you grow up, I guess sometimes you do end up being cool like everyone else, liking what everyone else likes and wearing what everyone else wears. Its not like peer pressure, its like conformity. You do/wear/listen to whats cool for people your age, and you fit in. But when I turned 13, that idea really changed for me, and I started listening to different music that my friends, (in reality, I listened to the music my friends listened to when they were 11 when I was like 7, and then I started listening to other music because thats what my family did, and then when I turned like 11, I started listening to what my friends were listening to, and then I turned 13), wearing different clothes and doing different things.

It was like everything that everyone else did was suddenly not the cool thing to do for me, and I didn't care about what was the cool thing, because I wanted to make a statement and do what I wanted.

Sometimes when one of my friends asks me if I like a song and I say no, they ask me why.

Why? I don't know, because I just don't like it. Why do you like it?

Why do you do what everyone else does, when you can have a more fun time listening to what you enjoy, and wearing what makes you feel good? Because you want to be cool in their eyes? Why do you want to be cool to someone whos definition of cool is different than yours?

Why would you ever what to be the same when you can be different and stand out?

I guess why I'm saying this is because I've been thinking about dance a lot, and people who dance.

Dance is the most diverse group in the whole world, closely followed by singers.

The reason singers aren't as crazy different from each other is because, apart from opera, yodeling and serious rap business, most singers can sing both extremes.

But with dancing, a ballet dancer can't break dance, and a street dancer can't just ballroom dance. (unless they are Moose.)

Dancing is amazing, and dancers aren't afraid to be themselves, and I LOVE it.

Its so funny, when you walk into my drama place, (which specializes in dance), you can tell who are the ballet dancers, and who are the modern/jazz dancers.

The ballet dancers often wear tutus and white or black soffee shorts, and just shirts. They all have their hair up in a pony tail and rarely wear make up.

The Jazz/modern dancers wear either (a) gold spandex shorts with black tights (b), bright blue soffee shorts and purple tights (c) or those bright pink shorts that say DANCE on the back, with any color tights, just as long as they are colorful. On top they usually are wearing either (a) just a really colorful t shirt (b) a ripped/big shirt with a tank top under. Their hair is awesome, and they are pro's with the eye make up, and their nails are constantly colored. Usually sparkly pink or blue.

And I love them. So much.

I watched Step Up 3D if you were wondering.

Pen Pal

Remember back in the day when people would sign up at those pen pal places, and they would get a pen pal in some other country?

That is like the coolest idea EVER.

So like, this blog is going to be come like a place where I post letters to Amy so she can read them about all the awesome stuff that is happening around here.

Amy. I am going to give you a comic every once and a while to make you laugh. Not today, but maybe tomorrow.

Also, the building that they are building is starting to look like a building. A really cool building. A building with concrete, on Friday. I'm super excited, I'm gonna watch it go down from the roof outside my window, which has a perfect view of the whole thing.

I'm doing pretty terrible in Biology, and so, I came up with a really brilliant idea (beside the idea of making a rap about the periodic table so I can remember it), and the idea is....studying. I've never studied before, but I think getting an F or something on one of the tests kind of calls for it, don't you?

Amy, that list you gave me of things to do when I'm bored? Yeah, its awesome. I'm going to post a picture of the picture I made of me, or maybe you will just see it this weekend. I've been drawing a lot, and I made a couple of my own comics and they rock.

I had my second drama class, and we did blocking. Blocking is where, instead of sitting around and reading your lines, you stand up and move around and do all the stuff you are supposed to do in the play. Next week we are going to learn a monster mash dance.

Wow, grooveshark? coolest. Place. EVER.

Isabel came over, and guess what? She can read. Pretty cool, considering she's only a year and a half.

Yeah thats all for now, and hopefully I will see you tomorrow or something.

Thoughts on Moving

Click on the picture to see it in all it's goodness.

I thought it would be a breeze living up here, practically like living with my immediate family, but what is really is is lonely. There’s nobody here half the time and I hardly know what to do with myself when I’m not at school besides drink tea and read lots of Chaim Potok. It’s a pretty big adjustment to go from living with five to seven other people to just living with myself, Mor Mor, and Angela.

But hey, I’ll adjust eventually. I’ve got a structured schedule, which is good, and now that my free time is more structured, I have more of a chance to pursue some serious hobbies like writing, sewing, and other such things to my heart’s content. Besides, Mor Mor's got a Steinway. How can I feel morose around a Steinway?

So I feel good about it, in the end. Really.

At least I'm making friends at school. For once.
